Tennessee moves to rename Nashville World Airport in Dolly Parton’s honor

Nashville World Airport could also quickly be renamed after Tennessee icon Dolly Parton, the governor and airport launched Friday.

The cherished country sage and philanthropist, who hailed from rural Tennessee, died Tuesday on the age of 80.

The airport and Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee launched the intent to identify the airport in her honor to design “a long-lasting tribute to her indelible legacy and the generations of people she impressed at some level of Tennessee and around the field,” they stated in a news release.
