Virginia Relate Police shot and killed a knife-wielding man after he fatally stabbed a lady and a dogs and wounded three folk in a avenue rage incident on the Capital Beltway, authorities acknowledged Monday.
The war of words unfolded about 1:20 p.m. Sunday advance Exit 52 on Interstate 495 in Fairfax County when a trooper arrived and “was confronted by a male suspect carrying a knife,” deliver police acknowledged in an announcement.
“The trooper then shot the suspect in self-defense,” police acknowledged.
The armed man, identified as Jared Llamado, 32, of McLean, became pronounced slow at a health center.
Michele Adams, 39, became stabbed to demise, and three other girls, ages 36, 37 and 40, had been wounded.
Adams died from her wounds, and a “dog, owned by Llamado, was also stabbed and is deceased,” police added.
The stabbings, which dwell beneath investigation, are no longer believed to be terrorism-related.
The trooper who opened fire became no longer injured and became placed on administrative leave until an internal probe of the shooting is done.
“The preliminary investigation indicates that Llamado did not know the victims prior to the incident,” police acknowledged. “None of the victims were in Llamado’s vehicle.”
