NEW YORK (AP) — The 2000 Year Outmoded Man is popping 100. Mel Brooks on Sunday will celebrate his centennial birthday.

The comic and filmmaker has been ready for the milestone. Earlier this year, Judd Apatow titled his retrospective documentary on him: “Mel Brooks: The ninety 9 Year Outmoded Man!”

“I used to be born to manufacture other folks laugh,” Brooks says within the movie. “So, I device that.”

Brooks used to be born Melvin Kaminsky in Brooklyn, Fresh York, on June 28, 1926.
